In the first session of the week of July 13, VN-Index at one point lost nearly 50 points amid the escalation of US-Iran tensions, before retreating sharply at the end of the session to only 27.8 points. Almost the entire market, except for the oil and gas group, was in the red.

Asian stocks were mostly in the red on fears of the continued escalation of the US-Iran war and the risk of the Strait of Hormuz being blocked, directly threatening global energy supplies. South Korea was the strongest shock market in the region when the KOSPI plunged and continued to trigger the trading stop mechanism, while Japan's Nikkei 225 and China's Shanghai Composite also fell deeply.
