On August 19, VN-Index fell 5.33 points to 1,726.69 points with 220 stocks falling more than twice as much as 97 gainers on HoSE, VCB and CTG alone took away nearly two points of the index, the VN30 basket was almost stationary with support from LPB and VNM.

By July 31, the credit balance of the whole system reached VND 20.26 million billion, an increase of 8.98% compared to the end of 2025, the difference between credit outstanding and capital mobilized in dong has reached about VND 2 million billion. The ratio of bad debts on the balance sheet at the end of June was at 3.31%, especially real estate outstanding loans accounted for 25.5% of the total outstanding loans of the economy with bad debts increasing by 10.5%. The State Bank will assign credit growth targets in 2027 in the direction of cutting limits for credit institutions that do not comply with the direction of reducing interest rates
