- US stocks fell on Tuesday (July 6), as Wall Street kicked off the week with fears that the best economic recovery from the pandemic may be behind. At the end of the session, the Dow Jones index dropped 208.98 points to 34,577.37 points. The S&P 500 fell 0.2% to 4,343.54 points. The index ended a streak of seven consecutive gains, the longest since August 2020. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite index advanced 0.17% to 14,663.64 points, a new record high.
