- US stocks continued to recover on Wednesday (October 6) as investors grew increasingly optimistic about a debt ceiling agreement and buying into technology stocks. At the end of the session, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 102.32 points, or 0.3%, to 34,416.99 points, wiping out the previous drop of 459 points in the session. The S&P 500 index advanced 0.4% to 4,363.55 points, after falling 1.27% to an intraday low. The Nasdaq Composite added 0.5% to 14,501.90, after falling as much as 1.2%.
