- Investors less worried about Omicron, Asian stocks rose. In Japan, the Nikkei 225 gained 0.55%. Japan's economy contracted 3.6% in the third quarter, worse than forecast for a 3% contraction. The Chinese market went up with Shanghai Composite up 1.18%, Shenzhen Component up 1.82%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 0.09%. South Korea's Kospi index rose 0.34%.
