- US stocks were mixed on Tuesday (December 28), as the major indexes attempted to record record highs in the final week of the year. At the end of the session, the Dow Jones advanced 95.83 points (or 0.3%) to 36,398.21 points, increasing for the 5th consecutive session. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 index dropped 0.1% to 4,786.36 points after recording a new high earlier in the session. The Nasdaq Composite Index lost nearly 0.6 percent to 15,781.70.
