US stocks turned lower on Tuesday (September 20), as a sell-off on Wall Street intensified and investors braced for a further rate hike from the US Federal Reserve (Fed). on Wednesday (September 21). At the end of the session, the Dow Jones index dropped 313.45 points (equivalent to 1.01%) to 30,706.23 points. The S&P 500 lost 1.13% to 3,855.93 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.95% to 11,425.05.

According to a report just released by HSBC, despite the global decline in foreign direct investment (FDI) during the Covid-19 period, FDI inflows into ASEAN are still at a record high. ASEAN currently accounts for about 10% of the world's FDI market share, almost on par with China. In which, Vietnam is one of two countries attracting outstanding FDI from ASEAN.

Session 21/9: Strong recovery at the end of the session, VN-Index increased by nearly 14 points. Total matched value reached 11,164 billion dong, down 36% compared to the previous session, of which, matched value on HoSE decreased by 36% and reached 9,559 billion dong. Foreign investors net bought more than 423 billion dong in the whole market.
