US stocks rose on Tuesday (February 7), after US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said inflation had started to fall. Major indexes spiked shortly after Mr. Powell's comments during a conversation at the Economic Club of Washington. At one point, the Dow Jones was up more than 275 points, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were both up more than 1%.
