Wall Street's main indexes fell on Friday as investors remained wary about a potential banking crisis even as the country's largest banks came to the rescue of troubled regional lender First Republic Bank. Peers PacWest Bancorp (PACW.O) fell 13.2% while Western Alliance (WAL.N) slid 11.7%. Big U.S. banks including JPMorgan, Citigroup (C.N) and Wells Fargo (WFC.N) were also down between 1.7% and 3.1%.

Most currencies rallied on Friday as fears of a global banking crisis eased, while the dollar slipped as markets bet the Federal Reserve would be more dovish in policy. The CNY was among the best-performing currencies as a positive outlook on the Chinese economy from Goldman Sachs boosted overall market sentiment.
