The scenario was similar to yesterday's session. During the morning session, VNIndex mainly fluctuated below the reference mark. Starting at 2:00 p.m., strong cash flow helped VNIndex close near the highest level of the session. The retail sector had the best gains today, followed by insurance, oil and gas which were also quite positive sectors.

Asian shares tracked Wall Street higher on Wednesday as U.S. rate cut fever lingered. Japan's Nikkei 225 rose 1.7%, edging closer to a 33-year high, after benchmark 10-year yields fell another 7.5 basis points to 0.56%, the lowest since early August. Chinese shares were an outlier, with the Shanghai Index fell more than 1% after the central bank left unchanged its benchmark lending rates, as widely expected.
