On May 13, Asia-Pacific markets saw mixed movements following news of a U.S.-China trade agreement. Hong Kong stocks tumbled, with the Hang Seng Index falling 1.87% to 23,108.27 points. Meanwhile, China’s Shanghai Composite edged up 0.17%, as the country lifted its ban on new aircraft deliveries from Boeing. Japan’s stock market rebounded sharply, with the Nikkei 225 surging 1.43%. At one point, the index jumped more than 800 points (around 2%), hitting its highest level in over a month, fueled by strong gains in banking, shipping, and export-oriented sectors, such as automobiles.

VIB: Vietnam International Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VIB) has announced that the State Bank of Vietnam has approved an increase in charter capital by up to VND4,249 billion, through a stock issuance to existing shareholders and an ESOP issuance. This capital raising plan had previously been approved by both the General Meeting of Shareholders and the Board of Directors.
