Asian stock markets were mixed today. In Japan, long-term government bond yields dropped sharply following news that the Ministry of Finance may cut issuance volume, which helped lift the Nikkei 225 index by more than 0.5%. In South Korea, the Kospi index fell 0.27%, despite reports that the Bank of Korea will cut its policy rate by 25 basis points this Thursday.
