S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite both closed at new record highs on Thursday (July 24), driven by better-than-expected quarterly earnings from Alphabet. In contrast, the Dow Jones came under pressure, weighed down by a more than 7% drop in IBM shares after its Q2 2025 software revenue missed expectations. Investors also shifted focus to the ongoing conflict between U.S. President Donald Trump and the Federal Reserve. The White House confirmed that President Trump will visit the Fed on July 24, further increasing pressure on Fed Chair Jerome Powell.

At the latest fuel price adjustment on July 24, gasoline prices were reduced for the second consecutive time, bringing RON 95 below the 20,000 VND/liter. Specifically, compared to last week’s adjustment, RON 95-III (the most common grade) was cut by 220 VND/liter to a retail price of 19,700 VND/liter. Similarly, E5 RON 92 was reduced by 210 VND/liter, now sold at 19,270 VND/liter.
