U.S. stocks closed higher last Friday as technology shares, including Apple, advanced and investors grew optimistic about potential interest rate cuts. Specifically, Apple shares surged more than 13.3% last week after the company raised its total investment commitment in the U.S. to USD600 billion over the next four years. Notably, Nvidia and AMD agreed to pay 15% of their chip sales revenue to China to the U.S. government.

Oil prices fell in early Asian trading on Monday, extending declines of more than 4% last week on higher U.S. tariffs on its trading partners, an OPEC output hike, and expectations the U.S. and Russia were moving closer to a Ukraine ceasefire pact.

Proprietary trading desks of securities firms recorded net purchases of over VND267 billion, mainly in FUEVFVND VND65 billion, FPT VND36 billion, E1VFVN30 VND30 billion. In contrast, they net sold VPB VND73 billion, HPG VND43 billion.
