VN-Index closed out 2025 with its fourth consecutive gaining session, though the rise was driven mainly by large-cap stocks, particularly those in the Vingroup and banking sectors. Vin-related stocks and banks were the best-performing groups in today’s session. In contrast, the oil & gas and steel sectors showed rather subdued performance.

Most Asian stock markets declined in the final trading session of the year. Markets in Japan and South Korea were closed for holidays. China’s Shanghai Composite edged up 0.1%, as the country wrapped up 2025 with a less gloomy economic picture: manufacturing activity in December expanded for the first time since March, beating expectations. Specifically, the official Manufacturing PMI rose to 50.1 in December.

In the last trading session of 2025, SJC gold bar prices continued to fluctuate within a corrective trend following the sharp previous drop, currently trading around 154.4 million VND/tael. Meanwhile, plain gold rings were largely flat, while jewelry gold showed mixed movements across brands.

LPB: On December 31, 2025, Loc Phat Vietnam Commercial Joint Stock Bank (LPBank, LPB) announced a change in its shareholding structure. Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thuy is no longer a shareholder holding 1% or more of LPBank’s charter capital. This change is part of the bank’s previously announced plan to adjust its shareholder structure. Prior to this, Mr. Thuy owned 2.76% of LPBank’s charter capital.
