Asian stocks fell sharply on Wednesday, as investors sold off chipmaker stocks over fears that the war in the Middle East would trigger an oil shock, increase inflation and delay interest rate cuts. The deepest in today's session was the Korea market when Kospi lost more than 12%, even it had to activate the automatic circuit breaker mechanism to suspend trading for 20 minutes. Similarly, Thailand market also had to activate the circuit breaker mechanism to suspend trading for 30p when the SET index fell by more than 8%.
