- Ending session 8/1, US stocks closed at a record high in the first trading week of 2021, when investors weighed on the prospect of the new financial assistance package and employment data. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the day up 56.84 points, or 0.2%, to 31,097.97 points. The S&P 500 rose 0.6% to 3,824.68 points. Nasdaq Composite rose 1% to 13,201.98 points. Both Dow and S&P 500 have a series of 4 consecutive gaining days.
