- At the end of January 25, the S&P 500 erased the decline at the beginning of the session and rose slightly to a record level as investors prepare for the week of financial statements of major technology companies. The S&P 500 ended the day with a 0.4% increase in volatility to close at a new record of 3,855.36 points. The index fell 1.2% at its lowest level of the day. Nasdaq Composite rose 0.7% and hit a new high with 13,635.99 points. The Dow Jones Industrial Average, less affected by technology stocks, fell 36.98 points, or 0.1%, to 30,960.00. At the intraday low, the index of 30 stocks declined by more than 400 points.
