- At the end of January 27, US stocks were in the red when receiving disappointing business results and increasing concerns about speculative activities. The Dow Jones industrial average lost 633.87 points, or 2.1%, to 30,303.17, its worst day since October 28. The S&P 500 fell 2.6% to 3,750.77, slipping off a record high and dropping the most in three months. The heavy drop in this session wiped out the 2021 gain of the S&P 500 and is now down 0.1% from the same period last year. Nasdaq Composite lost 2.6% to 13,270.60 points.
