- All three major US stock indexes posted their third consecutive weekly gain on Friday (October 22), with the Dow Jones closing at record highs. At the end of the session, the Dow Jones index advanced nearly 74 points, or 0.2%, to 35,677.02 points, the first record closing high since August 16. The S&P 500 index fell 0.1% to 4,544.90, a day after the index closed at a record high. The Nasdaq Composite Index lost 0.8% to 15,090.20
