- The main stock indexes rebounded strongly on Tuesday (December 21) after 3 sessions of decline, amid concerns about the rapidly spreading variant of Omicron. At the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 560.54 points, or 1.6%, to 35,492.70, supported by the rally in Nike and Boeing shares. The S&P 500 index advanced nearly 1.8% to 4,649.23 points as 9/11 sectors all recorded gains. The Nasdaq Composite added 2.4% to 15,341.10.
