- US stocks fell on Monday afternoon (November 22), reversing from the previous rally that took place after US President Joe Biden announced he would nominate Chairman Jerome Powell to continue leading the Fed, instead of nominating Fed Governor Lael Brainard for this position. At the end of the session, the Dow Jones index inched up 17.27 points to 35,619.25 points, reversing from a gain of more than 300 points to the peak of the session. The S&P 500 fell 0.32% to 4,682.94 and the Nasdaq Composite lost 1.26% to 15,854.76.
