US stocks were mostly flat on Wednesday (June 29), after the major indexes failed to recover in the previous session, and as the market prepared to close the worst first half of the year since 1970. At the end of the session, the Dow Jones advanced 82.32 points (or 0.27%) to 31,029.31 points, while the rest of the indexes all fell slightly. Specifically, the S&P 500 index fell 0.07% to 3,818.83 points and the Nasdaq Composite index dropped 0.03% to 11,177.89 points.

According to the General Statistics Office, the consumer price index (CPI) in the first 6 months of 2022 increased by 2.44% over the same period last year due to the increase in domestic gasoline prices in line with world prices; prices of food, foodstuffs, and prices of essential consumer goods and services increase with the price of raw materials and input materials.
