Wall Street fell sharply on Friday, after a solid jobs report in September raised the possibility that the Fed will continue to be aggressive on the path to raising interest rates, raising fears that it will push the economy America in recession. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 630.15 points, or 2.11%, to 29,296.79. The S&P 500 index fell 104.86 points, or 2.80%, to 3,639.66. The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 420.91 points, or 3.80%, to 10,652.40

According to the latest data just updated by the State Bank, the average overnight interbank VND interest rate (main term accounts for 80-90% of total trading volume) in the session of October 5 increased to 8 ,44%/year - the highest level in more than 10 years. Despite the increase in interest rates, overnight loan sales among banks still increased sharply, reaching VND 234,196 billion (compared to VND 156,844 billion in the session of October 4)

On HoSE, foreign investors had the 7th consecutive week of net selling with a value down 30% compared to the previous week and at VND 651bil, equivalent to a volume of 45.7mil shares
