Wall Street advanced on Friday, marking the end of an rocky week in which economic data and corporate earnings guidance hinted at softening demand but also economic resiliency ahead of next week's Federal Reserve monetary policy meeting. All three major U.S. stock indexes ended the session green, with the Nasdaq, powered by megacap momentum stocks, enjoying the biggest gain.

Consumer price index (CPI) in January 2023 increased by 0.52% over the previous month. The transportation sector had the highest increase in January 2023 with an increase of 1.39% over the previous month, making the overall CPI increase by 0.13 percentage points. The main reason is the increase in domestic gasoline prices in line with world fuel prices.
