Asia-Pacific markets were mixed on Wednesday as investors assessed inflation data from around Asia. China's consumer inflation held steady in May (0.3%) while producer price declines eased, but the underlying trend suggests Beijing would need to do more to prop up feeble domestic demand and an uneven economic recovery.

Oil prices ticked higher after three key forecasters predicted that global oil inventories would fall in the second half of 2024. In the domestic market, savings interest rates are tending to increase again. Since the end of May until now, more than 15 banks have increased savings interest rates, with the strongest increase up to 1.7%. Currently, BVBank, ABBank and BacABank list the highest interest rate for a 12-month term in the system at 5.6%, for a maximum deposit of VND1 billion.
