Aside from China and Hong Kong being closed for holidays, Asian stocks extended their losses on April 4 as U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff measures reignited fears of a trade war, along with rising concerns over recession and inflation. In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 fell 2.8% to 33,780.58 points, as automakers continued to come under pressure. Stocks in South Korea and Australia also declined, dropping by 0.9% and 2.4% respectively.
