U.S. stocks rose on Monday (June 2), the first trading session of June 2025, as Wall Street shook off mounting global trade tensions. At the close, the S&P 500 gained 0.41% to finish at 5,935.94 points, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.67% to 19,242.61 points. The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 35.41 points (or 0.08%) to 42,305.48 points.

Speaking at the 2025 International Conference hosted by the Bank of Korea in Seoul, Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said on June 2 that an interest rate cut by the Fed could still happen by the end of 2025, even though new tariff policies by President Donald Trump may drive inflation higher and place pressure on the labor market.

Proprietary recorded their sixth consecutive net selling session, though the pace of selling slowed, with a net outflow of VND147 billion, focusing on large-cap stocks like SSI (VND82 billion), EVF (VND69 billion), and FPT (VND57 billion). In contrast, they were net buyers of EIB (VND52 billion), MWG (VND32 billion), and TCB (VND15 billion).
