Asian stock markets fluctuated in opposite directions today. Specifically, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index declined by 0.63% after China’s services PMI fell to a nine-month low of 50.6 points. In addition, this decline may have been influenced by President Trump’s announcement of a 40% tariff on goods re-exported through Vietnam — a move that risks escalating tensions into a new round of tit-for-tat tariffs with China.
