Asian stock markets traded mixed on the morning of July 4, as investors remained cautious ahead of the July 9 deadline set by U.S. President Donald Trump to impose tariffs on imported goods. Trump stated that he would begin sending tariff notification letters to trading partners starting July 5, with around 10 letters planned per day. In South Korea, the KOSPI index plunged 1.99% to 3,054.28 points, as investors took profits after the index hit a near four-year high in the previous session.

The USD/VND exchange rate recorded its fourth consecutive gain on July 4, with USD prices at banks continuing to rise to record levels. On the free market, the USD also climbed to 26,520 USD/VND.
