The domestic gold market continued its rally, with strong increases across the board. SJC gold bars hit a new peak of 122 million VND/tael, while plain gold rings and jewelry also surged, with some places adjusting prices by up to 1 million VND/tael.

VPB: VPBank has become the largest private bank in terms of total assets, with consolidated assets exceeding VND1.1 quadrillion, while the standalone bank’s assets are approaching VND1.05 quadrillion. Its consolidated credit balance reached over VND842 trillion, up 18.6% year-to-date and 30.3% year-over-year, driven by contributions from both the parent bank and subsidiaries. In the first half of the year, VPBank reported consolidated pre-tax profit of VND11,229 billion, marking a 30% increase year-over-year. In Q2 alone, profit reached VND6,215 billion, surpassing expectations from many securities firms. After six months, the bank has achieved 44% of its full-year profit target and is nearing its year-end asset target of VND1.13 quadrillion.
