Asian stocks traded broadly higher as investors bet that weakness in the U.S. labor market will push the Fed to cut interest rates next week. The Hang Seng Index rose more than 1% to 26,200.26 points, while South Korea’s Kospi jumped 1.6% to 3,314.53 points.

After yesterday afternoon’s impressive rebound, Vietnam’s domestic gold market unexpectedly reversed course today. SJC gold bars fell sharply to around 135.3 million VND/tael, while gold rings and jewelry also moved lower.
