Asian stock markets had mixed movements today, September 24, as comments from Fed Chairman Jerome Powell provided few signals about future interest rate paths, and new data raised concerns about the risk of slowing economic growth in the U.S. Specifically, South Korea's Kospi dropped 14.05 points, or -0.4%. In contrast, Japan's Nikkei 225 rose by 137 points, or 0.3%, despite the latest report showing that manufacturing activity is declining at the fastest pace in six months, as new orders continue to shrink.

Today, the State Bank of Vietnam net injected liquidity back into the open market operations. Specifically, the State Bank injected more than VND12,000 billion, despite the cumulative net liquidity withdrawal over the past month being over VND65,000 billion.
