Asian stock markets were broadly higher today. Notably, South Korea’s Kospi rebounded more than 1.3% after last Friday’s sharp decline, as the country’s President announced that South Korea would not make an early payment of USD 350 billion in investments to the U.S., as proposed by President Donald Trump in a tariff reduction deal.

Global gold prices surged by more than 1.3%, hitting a new all-time high of USD 3,819 per ounce. Domestically, the gold market also saw sharp fluctuations. SJC gold bars climbed quickly to a record of VND 136 million per tael, while plain rings and 24K jewelry continued their strong upward momentum across major retailers nationwide.

VPB: The Board of Directors of VPBank Securities (VPBankS) has approved adjustments to its initial public offering (IPO) plan. The official offering price was set at VND 33,900 per share, significantly higher than the previously stated minimum of VND 12,130. With 375 million shares on offer, the company expects to raise more than VND 12.7 trillion, valuing the business at around VND 63.6 trillion, equivalent to nearly USD 2.4 billion.
