VN-Index sharply retreated in the afternoon session as the Vietnamese stock market was officially upgraded by FTSE from a frontier market to a secondary emerging market. Almost all sectors recorded positive gains today, with Real Estate, Securities, and Resources being the most notable.

Global gold prices continued to hit new all-time highs today, rising over 1.3%, officially surpassing the 4,000 USD/ounce mark. Similarly, domestic gold prices surged to unprecedented levels. Specifically, SJC, PNJ, and Bao Tin Minh Chau gold brands simultaneously increased by 1.3 million VND/tael in both bid and ask price, listing at 139.9 million VND/tael for bid price and 141.9 million VND/tael for ask price.
