After several days of sharp increases, domestic gold prices unexpectedly reversed and fell sharply by midday on December 16. SJC gold bars officially retreated from the 156 million VND/tael mark, while plain gold rings and 24K and 18K jewelry gold simultaneously plunged, with common decreases ranging from 500,000 to 1.3 million VND/tael.
