Asian stocks rose across the board today, led by gains in Japan's Nikkei 225. The positive performance of Japanese stocks and bond yields was a reaction to the central bank raising its benchmark interest rate to its highest level in three decades – from 0.5% to 0.75%.

On the afternoon of December 19th, the domestic gold market remained quiet. The price of SJC gold bars stayed firm above 156 million VND/ounce, nearly 19 million VND/ounce higher than the world gold price.

KienlongBank (KLB) officially received approval on December 18th to list its shares on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE). The number of shares registered for listing is over 582 million units, equivalent to a charter capital of over VND 5,800 billion. Currently, KLB shares are traded on the UPCoM market. This number increased after the bank issued shares to pay a 60% dividend to shareholders in September 2025.
