VN-Index lost nearly 22 points under pressure mainly from Vingroup stocks and net selling momentum of nearly VND 1000 billion from foreign investors. The Vingroup family was the group of stocks with the most negative decline in the market in today's session. On the contrary, Steel and Construction have quite positive developments.

Asian stocks today mainly traded in the green, going against the developments in the US market. In which, the leader is Kospi in South Korea with an increase of 1.57%. Japan's Nikkei 225 index fell 0.78% under pressure from technology stocks. Among the biggest losers on the index were Lasertec, a chip equipment maker, which plunged as much as 7.15%, and Konami Group, a video game company, which fell 8.28%. Japan's leading semiconductor equipment group Tokyo Electron also lost 2.07%.

Following the impressive recovery momentum from the previous session, to the session on February 4, the domestic gold market continued to break through. The price of SJC gold bars and plain round gold rings simultaneously climbed back to the mark of 180 million VND/oz, while gold jewelry increased sharply, in some places recording an adjustment of nearly 7 million VND/oz.

The Interbank overnight interest rate soared to 17% yesterday which shielded the State Bank to deploy a record-breaking liquidity support package, in the form of a 21-day foreign currency swap with credit institutions, the maturity date will be February 26 and the total volume of foreign currency intervention is up to 1 billion dollars.
