Asian markets generally had a weak session on Friday, following a sell-off led by the tech group on Wall Street. Only Japan's Nikkei 225 reversed up 0.81%. Shares of Japanese automaker Toyota rose 2% after the company announced third-quarter results and said CEO Koji Sato would step down. Mr. Sato will be replaced by current Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Kenta Kon.

In the afternoon session of February 6, the domestic gold market recorded remarkable developments when the price of SJC gold bars and plain round gold rings simultaneously turned around and increased back to the mark of 176.5 million/oz after the previous sharp decline. Contrary to this trend, the price of gold jewelry has a clear differentiation between gold trading enterprises.
