In the session of 02/07, VN-Index struggled slightly around the reference when the cash flow diverged sharply between Vingroup and the banking group. The Vingroup pair was the biggest driving force of the session. On the other hand, the banking group, led by VCB, was the strongest minus agent and completely reversed the role of yesterday's pillar.

The red color covered most of the Asian market as a wave of sell-off in semiconductor stocks from Wall Street spread from the beginning of the session. The focus was on South Korea when the KOSPI plunged the most in months, breaking through the psychological mark of 8,000 points and forcing the Korea Exchange to activate the automatic circuit breaker mechanism when the two pillar stocks Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix both fell deeply. Japan's Nikkei 225 also lost significant points following the general momentum of the technology group. In the opposite direction, Hong Kong's Hang Seng was a rare bright spot when retaining a slight green color, while China's Shanghai Composite continued to adjust.

SJC gold price today jumped sharply by 2 million VND/ton in both buying and selling directions, to 145.4 - 148.4 million VND/ton, marking the strongest recovery session in many days after a series of consecutive declines at the end of June. World gold prices also rose nearly 1% to around $4,066 per ounce according to Kitco, supported by lower-than-expected US private sector employment data and Fed Chairman's remarks showing that inflation risks have eased somewhat
