Asian stocks diverged. KOSPI led the gains, with the semiconductor group being the main driver. The Nikkei 225 and Shanghai Composite both inched slightly, oil prices cooled down and the record session of US stocks were two factors supporting sentiment. Hang Seng went against the red, selling pressure was concentrated in the technology group.

CPI in July decreased slightly compared to the previous month. On average, in 7 months, CPI increased by 4.39%. The manufacturing PMI reached 52.9 points, improving from 51.8 points in June. The enterprise expanded the labor scale for the first time after 5 months. Newly registered FDI reached 36.36 billion USD, up 50.9%. The trade balance shifted to a trade deficit of 20.52 billion USD. Production and foreign capital are the two pillars of solid support for the second half of the year, the risks to monitor are trade deficit and exchange rate pressure.
