China's Shanghai Composite Index and Hong Kong's Hang Seng both rose in semiconductor groups after China's largest chipmaker reported Q2 profits more than tripled year-on-year. Japan's Nikkei 225 index rose the slightest of the four markets, the driving force still being the large-cap technology group.

By July 31, the credit balance of the whole system reached VND 20.26 million billion, an increase of 8.98% compared to the end of 2025, the difference between credit outstanding and capital mobilized in dong has reached about VND 2 million billion. The ratio of bad debts on the balance sheet at the end of June was at 3.31%, especially real estate outstanding loans accounted for 25.5% of the total outstanding loans of the economy with bad debts increasing by 10.5%. The State Bank will assign credit growth targets in 2027 in the direction of cutting limits for credit institutions that do not comply with the direction of reducing interest rates
