On August 21, VN-Index increased by 33.88 points to 1,768.12 points with 263 gainers including 18 gainers on HoSE, almost all of the gains accumulated in the afternoon session when securities stocks simultaneously touched the ceiling price and foreign investors returned to net buying after six consecutive net selling sessions.

Asian stocks diverged. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose the most in the region with a boost from the health and technology sector, supported by sentiment as China kept its one-year and five-year key lending rates unchanged. South Korea's KOSPI index rose in line with the wave of memory chip stocks, which went against the general decline in the US last night. Japan's Nikkei 225 index was the only major market to decline as the yield on ten-year government bonds approached the 3% region, raising concerns that the Bank of Japan will raise interest rates.

This price increased by 600,000 VND in both directions compared to the session of 20/8. Gold rings at the same time were close to the mark of 148 million VND per amount.
