Asian markets were mixed. Japanese stocks were anchored in high territory as the Nikkei 225 index rose slightly, supported by the Bank of Japan raising interest rates to the highest level in more than 30 years and a wave of Japanese people putting idle money into the stock investment channel. South Korean stocks with the KOSPI index also kept in the green thanks to the semiconductor and artificial intelligence groups. In the opposite direction, the Hang Seng index all fell slightly.

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has just announced the Draft Amendment to Circular 22 issued in 2019 regulating the limits and ratios of prudential assurance in the operation of banks and foreign bank branches. The Draft Circular adjusts the ratio of short-term capital used for medium- and long-term loans of credit institutions to a maximum of 40% from the current 30%.
