Microsoft's positive business results and semiconductor stocks helped the market recover significantly in the July 30 session. In particular, the Nasdaq Composite index ended a series of 6 consecutive sessions of decline. Microsoft shares jumped 16% after reporting growth from its Azure business. Semiconductor stocks rose sharply, Micron Technology rose 18%, while Advanced Micro Devices (AM) rose more than 13%.
