US stocks also fell in the session of August 6 as investors closely watched developments on the agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz as well as a series of the latest financial reports. Sandisk shares fell more than 6% after the storage equipment maker announced its fourth-quarter financial results that did not impress investors. In addition, AppLovin shares plunged nearly 20% due to mixed business results, and Western Digital lost 13% due to disappointing forecasts, although previous business results exceeded expectations.

Crude oil prices continued to rise in the morning session on Friday (7/8) after information emerged that a committee of the Iranian Parliament was considering a bill to ban US and Israeli ships from passing through the Strait of Hormuz, and impose fines of up to 20% of the value of goods for violations.
