US stocks turned upwards thanks to the inflation report as expected and the rise of AI stocks such as CoreWeave or Super Micro Computer. The CPI in July was released as forecast, with the headline index increasing by 0.1% month-on-month and 3.4% year-on-year. Core CPI — which excludes fluctuations in food and energy prices — rose 0.2% last month and rose 2.5% over the same period.

World gold prices fell slightly again in the morning session on Thursday (13/8) after rising to the highest level in more than two months the previous day, as US inflation data was in line with forecasts, reinforcing expectations that the Fed will keep interest rates unchanged at the September meeting.
