- The S&P 500 index fell slightly on Monday (June 7) as it struggled to climb to record highs after a week of gains. Closing the session on Monday, the S&P 500 index fell 0.1% to 4,226.52, just 0.3% from the session high recorded in early May. Materials and industrials and sectors.
