- The S&P 500 index rose to an all-time high on Thursday, as investors ignored a key inflation report that suggested stronger-than-expected price pressures. Closing the session on Thursday, the S&P 500 index advanced nearly 0.5% to close a record high of 4,239.18 points. The S&P 500 also hit an intraday record high of 4,249.74 points, surpassing the peak reached on May 7, 2021 after moving sideways for nearly a month. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 19.10 points, or nearly 0.1%, to 34,466.24, while the Nasdaq Composite added 0.8 percent to 14,020.33 points.
