- Major US stock indexes rose on Thursday and the S&P 500 posted fresh record highs, as energy and travel stocks rallied ahead of a key report announced labor market. At the end of the session, the Dow Jones index rose 271.58 points (equivalent to nearly 0.8%) to 35,064.25 points. The S&P 500 gained 0.6% to a new all-time high of 4,429.10, while the Nasdaq Composite added 0.8% to 14,895.12.
